Our Founder & Director

Monique van Zelm Felix is a Clinical Social Worker and the Founder of Our Future Focus, a neurodiversity-affirming disability service based in Capalaba, Queensland. With nearly two decades of experience supporting autistic individuals, people with intellectual disability, complex communication needs, brain injury, and psychosocial disability, Monique is recognised for her capacity to deliver practical, strengths-based, and highly individualised supports across the lifespan.

Monique holds a Bachelor of Social Work (2010) and a Master of Social Work (2012), specialising in community development and counselling. She leads a multidisciplinary practice that provides therapeutic supports, specialist support coordination, positive behaviour support, disability support work, and professional supervision for social workers and allied health professionals.

Monique is known for designing innovative “service-for-one” models, integrating neuroaffirming therapeutic frameworks, and developing robust systems that improve safety, communication, and participant outcomes. She is committed to capacity building, co-design with families, and ensuring that people with disability have access to responsive, evidence-based, and relational support.

Alongside her clinical practice, Monique delivers professional training, supervision, and consultancy to practitioners across Australia. She is dedicated to strengthening the role of social work within the NDIS and shaping inclusive, community-centred models of care.

Terraze Porter

Social Worker and Specialist Support Coordinator

Terraze Porter is a qualified Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in the disability and community sectors. She brings a strong professional background in functional assessment, therapeutic intervention, and integrated support planning for NDIS participants across the lifespan.

Terraze’s practice is grounded in evidence-informed social work frameworks and a neuroaffirming, person-centred approach. She has extensive experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing capacity-building interventions, and delivering therapy that supports participants to enhance independence, emotional regulation, daily functioning, and community engagement.

In addition to therapeutic work, Terraze provides wrap-around disability support, coordinating with families, support workers, allied health professionals, and broader networks to ensure consistent and holistic care. Her experience spans early childhood through to complex adult presentations, including psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability, acquired injury, and co-occurring support needs.

Terraze is known for her clinical insight, thoughtful engagement style, and ability to translate assessment findings into practical, achievable recommendations that align with NDIS goals and participant-led priorities. Her assessments reflect a balanced understanding of functional strengths, environmental barriers, and support requirements necessary for safe and meaningful participation in daily life.

Chief Operations Officer

Adriano de Franca Felix brings a decade of personal and professional experience supporting people with disabilities. He joined Our Future Focus as the organisation’s back-end operations, HR, and people-focused specialist, contributing strong governance, systems knowledge, and a calm, relationship-centred approach to working with families and participants.

Adriano has previously managed hundreds of clients and staff across large service environments, giving him a deep understanding of workforce coordination, quality support delivery, and the operational demands of disability services. His background spans customer relations, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and social media management, allowing him to blend practical service knowledge with strategic communication skills.

At Our Future Focus, Adriano is committed to building a responsive, reliable, and person-centred service culture. He enjoys connecting with families, supporting staff, and contributing to meaningful change within the local community. His work emphasises respect, clarity, and collaboration, ensuring participants receive the structured, quality support they deserve.

Rob Fonua

Support Coordinator

Rob Fonua is an experienced Support Coordinator with a strong background in disability services, community engagement, and person-centred practice. He brings a calm, practical, and solutions-focused approach to supporting NDIS participants and their families, ensuring they feel heard, informed, and empowered in every stage of their planning journey.

Rob has extensive experience navigating complex service systems, advocating for participants, and coordinating multidisciplinary supports. He is skilled in identifying gaps, problem-solving barriers, and building sustainable networks around individuals to strengthen their capacity and independence. Rob’s collaborative communication style allows him to develop strong relationships with providers, therapists, and community organisations, ensuring participants receive timely and effective support.

Before joining Our Future Focus, Rob worked across a range of client-facing roles where he supported diverse groups of people, including those with psychosocial disability, autism, intellectual disability, and chronic health conditions. His strengths lie in understanding each person’s unique goals, promoting supported decision-making, and ensuring services align with participants’ values and aspirations.

Rob is committed to delivering high-quality, ethical support coordination that enhances outcomes and helps people build meaningful, connected lives within their community.

Practice Manager

Bringing a versatile blend of administrative expertise, operational coordination, and client-focused support. Based in the Philippines, Ashley works virtually to ensure the organisation runs smoothly, supporting both families and the team behind the scenes.

Ashley began her journey with Our Future Focus as a Social Media Manager while completing her studies, creating digital content and managing online engagement. Her dedication, attention to detail, and collaborative approach led to her taking on rostering responsibilities, liaising with support workers, participants, and families to ensure seamless service delivery. She was later promoted to Practice Manager, where she now oversees administrative operations, including calendars, emails, invoicing, and team coordination.

Ashley holds a Diploma in Office Management Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Office Administration. She is recognised for her organisational skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to supporting a person-centred, efficient, and responsive service culture. Starting as a student assistant, Ashley’s journey reflects her dedication, adaptability, and integral role in the ongoing growth of Our Future Focus.
